Mind Valley helps you organize keywords and components in a pattern you might use for your passwords or credentials.

Credentials are a combination of multiple components, some of which are optional: an Identifier, an Identity, a Primary, a Value and one or more Tags.

- The identifier is the name of the credential. It is often helpful to use the name of the website or organization to which the credential is associated. This helps you identify it quickly and can be searched on the list.
- The identity is an optional component that is useful to track the specific email or username associated with the credential, especially when it differs from your main one.
- The primaries are your old passwords. As it is ever so natural for people to gravitate towards a set of one or more primary passwords, the list of primaries allows you to keep a selection of base passwords to increment the combinatoric strength of your credentials. They can be labeled for ease of identification.
- The value is a string unique to each credential and it is used to lengthen it. It can be generated as a random word or set manually. It is displayed directly on the list of credentials.
- The tags are a set of keywords to help you identify the nature of a credential at first sight or filter them by category. Their power is entirely in your hands.

We suggest you compose your final passwords by concatenating the primary, the identifier and the value in that order, but it is up to you to mix and match these elements in a way that works specifically for your needs. It might even be useful to include tags into the final product.
